The Grid terrain is region sized (256m x256m) and is a boring flat and green region divided into 9 equal grid squares with a smooth, sailing canal separating each area and uses every bit of the region. Loading this is far easier than trying to make it yourself.  I was amazed at how much time it took to make those canals smooth!

It’s the easiest way to terraform online grid regions or for use in 3D modelling tools when you don’t want to terraform yourself.

Description

The Grid terrain is region sized (256m x256m) and is a boring flat and green region divided into 9 equal grid squares with a smooth sail-able canal separating each area and it uses every bit of the region. Loading this is a lot easier than spending the time doing it yourself (trust me).

This terrain terraforming file was hand made inworld and tested on the Second Life and Avination grids so you can have confidence it will load and look good without problems.

Designed for region owners, experience creators and 3D modelling, this takes the hard work out of getting your land modifications right.

Your licence is for use in 3D modelling tools or on any compatible grid but not for distribution to others or for resale.

It is easy to use and it comes with a picture of the terrain just in case you need reminding what a flat and green grid looks like

The land texture is not included in this pack.  For managed grids it is available as part of the default upload. For other uses, you will need to source your own texture.

This is a digital download.

  • Once payment is confirmed, you will receive a link to the download.
  • The download is a .zip file and contains the raw file, a texture setting file and the licence agreement.
  • You have 12 months to download the file.  If you need to re-download it after this time, contact us.
  • You can download this file twice.  After that, you will need to contact us to request a new copy.

The copyright of the terrain file (the .raw file), the settings texture (.jpg) and the licence agreement (.pdf)  is held by Immersive Digital.

What you are licenced to do

You may use this .raw file on any suitable platform, subject to any usage limitations imposed by those platform owners.

You can use this file in any modelling tool.

You can modify the terrain in any way you wish for your own use.

What you cannot do

You are not permitted to give or sell the contents or individual components of this terrain package to others.

You are not permitted to make derivative works from this for sale or to give to others.

If you breach this licence, we’ll take any action deemed necessary.  Just don’t do it, it discourages content creators from making things and ultimately reduces your choice.

By purchasing this item you confirm:

  • You agree to, and will comply with, the licence conditions,
  • You’ve checked to ensure you can load the contents of the file to the software or games platform you intended. i.e. if you’re not loading this terrain file onto a managed grid, check with your provider to see if terrain files can be loaded,
  • If you intend to use this in a 3D modelling tool, you’ve confirmed the file format is suitable for direct load or can be converted to a suitable format.

Once you have downloaded the files, there are no refunds.  If the file is corrupted on download, it will be replaced.

How to Use

Grids

  • If you are loading onto a managed grid, you must be an estate owner to load this.
  • If you’re not the estate owner, you’ll have to email the .raw file to them and ask them to load it.
  • For other grids you will need to check with the grid owner or provider.

3D Modelling Tools

  • For modelling tools, you should check to see if the tool accepts .raw files before purchasing.
  • If not, open the .raw file in notepad, remove the file name (line 1) and import into blender, then export into your preferred file format.
